Cate Elsten is a Managing Director for Truest Consulting, LLC. She has over forty years of experience as a financial professional and has acted as a consultant on intellectual property matters since 1990. She has been admitted as a testifying expert in all federal circuits and her opinion was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case of Cochlear Corporation, Cochlear Ltd. v. Alfred E. Mann Foundation for Scientific Research, Advanced Bionics, LLC. In addition to expert services in litigation, she has provided consulting on valuations, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and operational strategies for companies in a wide range of industries.

Prior to joining Truest Consulting, Ms. Elsten was a Managing Director at Ocean Tomo LLC and a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, among other positions. She has a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and a master’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She served three terms on the editorial board of The Trademark Reporter and on the Board of Governors for the Brand Name Education Foundation and has lectured for professional organizations and universities. She has served on numerous charitable boards and was the founder of Always Loyal Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
